We love the shed and we have tried to make sure that it has has everything you could need for a happy stay in the vibrant city of Bristol. It is a cosy little nest (2.5 metres wide and 5 metres long) perfect for snuggling in. The little kitchen has a two ring electric hob, a good sized fridge, a sink with cold running water and all the pots and pans, plates etc you could need to make simple shed feasts. There's a toaster and kettle, an old pine country kitchen table and the shelves are stocked with organic teas and coffee. Over the Summer we are stopping our breakfast hamper as we are away alot but from September 2018 we will also include a some simple locally sourced breakfast for the first morning of each booking.
There are books and games to enjoy during your stay as well as a wifi connection, a blue tooth speaker, a Roberts radio and an old guitar. The bed has wonderful french linen sheets, a feather duvet and colourful bedspreads and once you get in, you won't want to leave! The shed is fully insulated and there is a retro heater, electric blankets and hot water bottles to keep you toasty in colder months. In the utility in the main house approximately 5 metres away through the garden, you have your own entrance with access to a slow cooker and microwave as well as hot running water, a washing machine and your own private wet-room and loo. The shed has outdoor slippers and a colourful dressing gowns to make your trip to the bathroom a warm one and we provide towels. There is a hair dryer and also just ask if you would like to borrow an iron.
Shed and breakfast is trying to walk carbon-lightly on the earth so we have solar pv panels and solar thermal for our electricity and hot water and there is a recycling and compost bin in the shed. Also the breakfast produce we use is mostly locally produced and organic and comes in biodegradable packaging where possible.
Outside you'll find a sunny south facing garden that you share with the family including Wilf the dog and little Indy, there’s a BBQ and a fire wok you can use and a little gate that leads out onto the quiet colourful street and the vibrant city close by. The shed does feel nice and tucked away from the rest of the house once you are inside but it is close to the kitchen doors and you may well see us as you come and go. We hope you will feel really at home here and you are always welcome to knock on the door if you need anything at all. We really look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the shed!
Listen out for my barks when you arrive but fear not, within moments I will be wagging my tail and looking at you with soppy eyes hoping for a treat! I really look forward to making each shed dweller feel at home!
We feel very proud that shed and breakfast featured in Sawday's self catering collection and we feel honoured to have had a stamp of approval from such a reliable source of truly special places to stay.
"Follow the path to the end of this quiet Victorian terrace and find a sunny surprise… Tucked into the back of Daisy and Jon’s blossomy garden is your snug yellow shed – they lived here when doing up their house and you straight away want one yourself! Step inside to find an arty, rustic space with all you need for an alternative eco-friendly stay."
