Sometimes you can forget as parents of tiny wonderful but super demanding people how important it is to get all your friends together free of little ones for a few hours to sing and sway and soak it all up like you used to! And so we found ourselves stringing up festoon lighting, ridding our house of furniture, lining up the glasses, lighting the fire wok and making cocktails in eager anticipation of our 1st ever house gig. The inspiring singer songwriter Danny Schmidt settled into his shed dressing room! in the afternoon and messed in with the family even playing a duet in the shed with Indy of Old Macdonald! Then the evening came around and a few lovely friends squeezed into No 12 AKA the Bassmore Inn for some beautiful music from Danny Schmidt, yummy food and cocktails by Shona and Leanne from Emmeline cafe in Bristol and some late night chilling round the fire wok outside the shed, Danny's digs for the night! We realised how much we have missed those times of festive reverie and feel that this may just be the first of many a house gig at The Bassmore Inn! Thank you to all those who came and gave up their Thursday Evening to raise some money for Weston Hospice and remind us how much we love that good old fashioned combo of good friends, good food and good music!
